An ozone generator capable of giving highly concentrated ozone, and having a long lifetime. This ozone generator is characterized by a high voltage electrode formed of a plurality of metal discs fixed to a high voltage electrode bar, a cylinder enclosing the high voltage electrode and formed out of a dielectric material, an external electrode enclosing the cylinder and formed out of a metallic material, a first space provided between the external electrode and the cylinder and adapted to pass oxygen therethrough, a first introduction passage means for introducing oxygen into this space from the outside, a first recovery passage means for taking out oxygen ozonide from this space to the outside, a means for applying a high-frequency high voltage to the high voltage electrode, and a means for earthing the external electrode, and further characterized in that the metal discs are provided with a plurality of notches in their outer circumferential portions.
