The cable has an axially-moving central vane (1) guided inside a sleeve (2) by rollers between two diametrically opposite rails (3) which have their ends attached to inner and outer sleeve members (51. 52) which are joined together by locking elements (6). Each locking element is in the shape of a stepped lug with its base (60) located in a rail (3) and its broad outer end in holes in the two sleeve members (51, 52). The broadest portion of the lug is at least equal in width to the base so as to create an inner thrust face (610) which is in contact with the outer surface of the rail.
