<p>A printer (80) comprising a printing unit (81) which prints characters on a recording medium such as a single slip (S), continuous paper (L2), etc., in accordance with the printing data transmitted from an external host apparatus, an operation panel (70) which includes a display unit which displays the operation state of the printing unit (81), a display panel (60) which displays the data to be displayed which are transmitted to the printing unit (81) from the external host apparatus (H), an interface (86) by which signals are transmitted and received between the host apparatus (H) and the printing unit (81), and interfaces (87 and 62) by which signals are transmitted and received between the printing unit (81) and the display panel (60). By such a construction, disagreement between the printed content and the displayed content can be securely avoided and the size reduction and structure simplification of the system can be realized.</p> |
