The invention concerns a prosthesis for the knee, comprising a tibial base (A) including a plate (10) and designed to be fixed at the top end of the tibia by means of an anchoring pin (16), a femoral piece (B) comprising a front web (30) and two rear webs (32) joined by a linking web (34), the external face of the femoral piece comprising two asymmetric side condyles (40, 42), a notch being formed in the femoral piece (B), the femoral piece being designed to be fixed at the lower end of the thigh bone, and an insert (C) designed to be fixed on the tibial base (A) and two impressions (44, 46) designed to co-operate with the two condyles (40, 42) of the femoral piece.
