The invention concerns an automotive and self-locking articulated joint designed to be mounted between two adjacent elements (A1; A2) consisting of at least one preformed elastic strip (3) with curved cross section and designed to be made integral, by its two ends, with the two elements and to take up a folded position and an unfolded position. The invention is characterised in that each elastic strip (3) is provided with a coat of visco-elastic material (4) set between one of the surfaces of the elastic strip (3) and a stress plate (5) for obtaining an articulation ensuring a damping function as well.
