PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable low power consumption and high luminance in a liquid crystal display device using a backlight using a light transmission plate. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device provided with a lighting means consisting of a linear light source arranged along at least one end edge of the light transmission plate 100 consisting of planar transparent material oppositely arranged on a rear surface of an effective display area of a liquid crystal panel, a larger number of projecting parts consisting of an upper surface parallel to the back surface of the liquid crystal panel and a slope 104 connecting between this upper surface and the light emission surface 101 of the light transmission plate 100 are integrally formed on the light emission surface 101 opposite to the liquid crystal panel of the light transmission plate 100. |
