<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the accuracy of a calculated moving vector by calculating matching degrees at respective positions while making a block on one image scan in the other image, and evaluating and deciding the best value. SOLUTION: The image signal obtained by a video camera 10 is converted by an A/D converter 11 into a sequential digital image signal, which is stored in frame buffers 13a and 13b alternately through a changeover switch 12. A moving vector calculation part 14 calculates a moving vector from the different- time image signals stored in the two frame buffers 13a and 13b. At this time, a block area is set for the stored image, a block matching is performed according to the image of the area, and matching degrees at respective positions within the matching range and an evaluated value for the result are calculated. Then the found evaluated value is compared with a previously set threshold value and when it is decided that the result of the matching is accurate, the moving vector is recorded.</p> |
