A sound reproducing speed converter which converts the reproducing speed of sounds in the input sound signal or the residual input signal, by selecting two adjacent waveforms having the same length so that the error between the waveforms becomes the smallest, calculating an overlapping waveform by superposing the waveforms upon another, and then, substituting or inserting the overlapping waveform for or into part of input sound signals or residual input signals.
