PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent development carrier from adhering to an electrostatic latent image carrier by arranging a recovery means so that it is opposed to developer carried toward the image carrier by a developer carrying means. SOLUTION: The developer 46 passing a recovery area 62 is carried to a developing area 60 based on the rotation of a sleeve 20. The developer 46, especially the carrier, constitutes a magnetic brush along magnetic flux generated from the respective magnetic poles of a magnetic body 16. The magnetic brush is erected at an opposed part to the magnetic pole and tilted between the magnetic poles, and the magnetic brush erected at a certain opposed part to the magnetic pole is inversely erected at the next opposed part to the magnetic pole. Therefore, the carrier at the edge of the magnetic brush, that is, a recovering roller 24 side at the opposed part to the magnetic pole N3 exists nearest to a photoreceptor 100 side in the developing area 60. In the case the carrier is not stably held on a developing roller 14, since the unstable carrier is recovered by the roller 24 in the recovery area 62, it does not adhere to the photoreceptor 100. |
