Modified device for blocking the handlebar stem in its telescopic coupling with the fork tube, the device being comprised of a short screw (2) bearing in a rib or neck (3) situated in the internal lower portion of the handlebar stem (1) which is used to pull, according to the various embodiments of the invention, a cone (5) or a wedge, these mobile elements which being capable of fixing both the stem and the tube by tightening. Means are provided to prevent the loosening of the screw (2). The structure of the assembly is improved and the weight is considerably reduced.
