摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly measure a high voltage without using a voltage-dividing capacitors and without losing a linearity by providing an electrode for applying a voltage to a crystal member used as a Pockels element and forming another capacitance between electrodes. SOLUTION: Light entering an optical fiber 1 is collimated into parallel light by a focusing lens 10, only a linear polarization in one direction is reflected by a polarization beam splitter(PBS) 12 and is inputted to a 1/4 wavelength plate 16 as a circular polarization. A voltage is applied between transparent electrode films 18 and 20, and circular polarization is supplied to Pockels elements 14 and 15 and is supplied to a PBS 13 as an elliptical polarization that is proportional to the application voltage. The application voltage to the Pockels elements 14 and 15 is divided by its own capacitance and the capacitance of the space between them, the output linearity of the Pockets elements 14 and 15 cannot be lost even if a high voltage is applied, and also a sufficient withstand voltage is achieved. The elliptical polarization supplied to the PBS 13 reflects only the linear polarization constituent in one direction and is applied to an optical fiber 3 by a focusing lens 11, thus emitting intensity-modulated light.</p>
