摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transit the equipment from the V.8 protocol into other communication protocol by revising a time to monitor reception of a CM signal while transmitting an ANSam signal in the V.8 protocol in matching with a communication network to which the equipment is connected. SOLUTION: A control circuit 20 acquires a line 2a by automatic call reception processing in response to the detection of a call signal and sends an ANSam signal in the V.8 protocol to the line 2a. Upon the receipt of a CM(call start menu) signal within a prescribed time after the start of the transmission of the ANSam signal, the V.8 protocol sequence is continued. When no CM signal is received within a prescribed time, the equipment follows a sequence of the T.30 protocol different from the V.8 protocol. At first, the prescribed time is selected to be a time shorter than the time stipulated by the V.8 protocol, and when a destination has no provision for the V.8 protocol, the equipment transits to the T.30 protocol in a short time. However, the CM signal is received after a prescribed time, then the equipment follows again the V.8 protocol to revise the succeeding prescribed time into a time stipulated by the V.8 protocol.
