The card (1) which is made of plastic has a cavity which receives an integrated circuit (2). The integrated circuit has a thickness preferably less than 120 microns and is located adjacent to the neutral axis of the card. An antenna (3) consisting of a number of turns of conducting polymer is deposited on the face of the card which is flush with the integrated circuit face by silkscreen printing. A layer of resin (4) covers the integrated circuit and a part of the surrounding card in order to protect the circuit and it's connections to the antenna.
