PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical receiver whose dynamic range is extended by suppressing distortion of an output waveform caused, when an amplitude of an optical signal current input waveform is high with respect to the optical receiver. SOLUTION: The optical receiver is provided with a level-detecting latch means 10 that detects a DC current of a specific ratio, based on a '1' level and a '0' level of an optical signal current flowing to a light-receiving element on the basis of an optical signal current flowing to a cathode of the light- receiving element, converts the detected DC current into a DC voltage and holds it and with an intermediate DC extract means 14 that extracts the DC current, based on the held DC voltage from a connecting point between an anode of the light-receiving element and a preamplifier 15 having nearly a symmetrical output characteristic with respect to '1' and '0' levels of an optical signal current input waveform, so that the deficient portion is extracted from the preamplifier 15 when the optical signal is smaller than the DC current. |
