PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high image quality even when the life of an electrifying means is near its end and to enable a long use of a process cartridge which is loadable to the image forming device and has at least an image carrier and the electrifying means integrally. SOLUTION: This cartridge can be loaded to the image forming device and integrates at least the image carrier 1 and electrifying means 7 which electrifies in contact with the image carrier. In this case, the electrifying means 7 and the process cartridge having it can be used over a long period of time by providing life detection means 15, 18, and 20 for detecting the life of the electrifying means, and a control means 17 for variably controlling, according to the results of the detection by the life detection means 25, 18, and 20, conditions under which an electrifying bias is applied to the electrifying means 7. |
