Electronic funds transfer meter

The funds transfer meter includes an IC card reader allowing funds transfer to pay for the utility use via the card. A display shows an operation menu and the processed results of the meter. A key-pad receives user input by selecting from the meter operation menu. A communication module transmits data to and receives data from public utilities and financial organisations. A memory stores the remote control program and operation meter program received via communication networks. A meter controller executes the stored programs to calculate charges for usage and electronic fund transfer.
