A throttle valve arrangement for a spark ignition internal combustion engine contains in the intake pipe (8) a throttle valve part composed of a housing (2) and at least one throttle valve (19. The housing (2) is a light-metal casting, in particular an aluminium alloy casting, and the throttle valve (1) is made of a light-metal, in particular an aluminium alloy. The light-metals of which the housing (2) of the throttle valve part and the throttle valve (1) are made have comparable coefficients of thermal elongation. The coefficient of thermal elongation of the housing (2) and the coefficient of thermal elongation of the throttle valve (1) differ by 5 % at the most, in relation to the smallest coefficient of thermal elongation. The numeric values of the coefficients of thermal elongation lie for example in a range from 21.7 x 10<-6>/ DEG K to 22.9 x 10<-6>/ DEG K. This ensures a reliable displacement of the throttle valve in its housing over the whole range of working temperatures of an internal combustion engine.
