<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of fault foreseeing and to make the securing of the reliability of a communication system consistent with the efficiency of maintenance work by counting the number of line error counts over a prescribed sampling time, calculating the acceptable number of errors to traffic for the sampling time and comparing counted error numbers with the acceptable number of errors. SOLUTION: When traffic at the first sampling time is T1 , the acceptable number of errors is calculated to the traffic T1 and compared with a measured number of errors. In this case, because the measured number of errors is more than the acceptable number of errors, it is decided as a fault. On the other hand, when traffic at the third sampling time is T2 , because the measured number of errors at the 3rd sampling time is less than the acceptable number of errors, it is decided that the T2 at the 3rd sampling time is not a fault.</p> |
