PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the discharge lamp lighting device which standardizes a ballast choke. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device 1 is connected with a commercial AC power supply (e), the input terminal of an all wave rectifier 2 is connected with the commercial AC power supply (e), and a smoothing capacitor C1 is connected with the output terminal of the all wave rectifier 2. A one transistor type inverter circuit 3 is connected with the smoothing capacitor C1, the inverter circuit 3 allows the collector and emitter of a switching transistor Q1 to be connected in series with a parallel resonance circuit 4 provided with a resonance capacitor C2 and a resonance inductor L1, and a drive circuit 5 is connected with the base of the transistor Q1. Both one side ends of a space between the filaments F1a and F1b are connected with the resonance inductor L1 through a ballast choke 6 with which two choke coils L2 and L3 are connected in series, and a starting capacitor C3 is connected with both the other side ends of a space between the filaments F1a and F1b. |
