PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device in which a relative position between a center position in starting scroll and a region in the present display screen is clarified, and conditions for changing automatically a display reduction scale and setting of a display position in changing automatically a display reduced scale are made efficient. SOLUTION: Information of a display reduced scale and a display position is given to a map read-out means 4 so that a control means 3 receives information of a scroll direction from a scroll direction indicating means 1 and a center position in starting scroll is always displayed in a display screen of a map display means 5, map data of a display region is extracted from a display map data storage means 2, based on the above, and this is displayed on a screen by the map display means 5. Since scroll is continued displaying always the center position in starting scroll, a scroll target position can be easily confirmed and a map can be scrolled at high speed. |
