<p>A cable splice closure (10) includes an elongated tubular member (12) having first and second portions (14, 16). Each portion has opposed ends (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b) and parallel sides (14c, 14d, 16c, 16d). The sides extend between the ends and are spaced apart by an arcuate section (18, 24). Each side has a flange extending along its length. The flanges (20, 22) of the first portion (14) are provided for matched abutment with the flanges (26, 28) of the second portion (16). At least one groove extends along each flange. A member extends along the groove for bonding the flanges together. The member is responsive to electrical or electromagnetic stimulation for generating heat in bonding member.</p> |
