The present invention provides for a pressure pad switch having a first layer comprising a first switch contact surface, a second layer mounted substantially parallel to said first layer and comprising a second switch contact surface, the two layers comprising a membrane switch arrangement, and including insulator spacer means located between said first and second layers and further serving to retain the switch contact surfaces out of contact except when one of the two layers is deformed by the pressure exerted by a rodent. The invention can advantageously provide for a rodent detection apparatus that can employ such a switch and which can be totally self-contained and portable. |
