METHOD OF DETERMINING PERIOD OF TIME WHEN WOOD OF INTERIOR OBJECTS WAS CHOPPED

FIELD: wood investigation. SUBSTANCE: wood species is first established and reference diagram is plotted. At least four drops of distilled water are placed onto cleaned wood surface in staggered rows and absorption time is recorded. Its average value is found and, comparing it with reference diagram, one can judge about time expired since wood has been chopped. It enables establishing, with accuracy 5-10 years, the latest date when art object was manufactured. EFFECT: improved accuracy of analysis.
