A headlamp for vehicles has a housing (G), a light diffuser (L) that closes the housing (G) and extends over a corner area of the vehicle, at least one headlamp compartment (K) in the housing (G), in which a light source (Q) is arranged, and a Fresnel lens (F) arranged between the light source (Q) and the light diffuser (L), adjacent in at least one partial area to the light diffuser and having concentric prismatic rings (P) and at least one curved partial surface. In order to simplify as much as possible the manufacture of such a headlamp, while ensuring the best possible lighting and the respect of light distribution norms, the Fresnel lens (F) has a first curved partial surface (T1) which contains the centre of the concentric prismatic rings (P) and a second partial surface (T2) that extends into the lateral area of the headlamp compartment. The partial surfaces (T1, T2) have different flat geometries and are mutually separated by vertical parting lines (TL1, 2). The concentric prismatic rings (P) continue in alignment over the parting lines (TL1, 2) into the other partial surface.
