The module to scan an electronic memory (4), holding specific stitching data for the control of a domestic sewing machine, has a transparent leading side (3) with touch keys (32). The memory (4) is inserted behind the leading side (3), with a side of it towards the touch keys (32), with visible pattern symbols matching the layout of the touch keyboard (32). Also claimed is a domestic sewing machine where a module can be inserted and replaced.
