METHOD FOR BENDING BELT AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME

FIELD: precision bending of belt at making, for example, liners of sliding bearings. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying bending moments to ends of belt; twisting ends of cold belt in opposite sides towards symmetry plane of initial belt having radius curvature; uniformly twisting ends of belt along circles with radius equal to hypotenuse of isosceles right triangle with leg equal to 1/4 of diameter of initial curvature of belt. Apparatus for bending belt includes two struts with units for clamping belt ends and two crank-shaped pins. Each pin includes adjusting guide, movable slide and rotary pressure lever with thrust joint-articulation axle. Additional levers with hinged nuts and pressure bolts are secured to struts. clamping units are mounted on slides. EFFECT: manufacture of articles of predetermined curvature without damage of their inner and outer surfaces at maintaining initial allowances for thickness. 2 cl, 2 dwg
