The open ends of the channel (1) may be closed. Ventilating holes for the channel are provided in the profile or the bodywork. The mass is pressed in through the bodywork or the profile or the closed ends of the channel. The cover profile (3) remains on the channel at least until the onset of a hardening or gelation of the mass. A series of bodywork members with at least one channel open in cross-section is filled with the mass. A number of cover profiles are placed one after the other on the channels. They are removed from the mass-filled channels after the hardening of the mass, and then the process is repeated.
