The airbag's rebound strap (3) is squeezed by at least one clamping element (12-14) between two oppositely disposed clamping faces. This is done in such a way that with loads created during opening of the airbag it can slide through between the two faces. Through it the energy acting upon the strap is at least partially absorbed. Hooks (15) are provided on the strap to prevent it from completely slipping through the clamping element.
