<p>Metallic pigmented powdered paint contains (1) powdered nickel, (2) aluminum flakes individually precoated with 2-200 pts. (10-70) of an organic thermosetting film forming copolymer (I) having epoxy functions, of mono unsat. monomers and a crosslinking agent chosen from dicarboxylic acids and anhydrides per 100 pts. Al flakes where ratio of Ni/coated Al flakes is 1/4-4/1 (1.5/1-2.5/1). The combination of nickel and coated Al flakes gives a bright metallic coating e. g. for automobiles without orientation parallel to and near to the surface which gives an appearance which is too silvery and has poor depth of colour.</p> |
