PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image faithful to an original by using a developer obtained by mixing two kinds of fine powder which are smaller in grain size than toner particles. CONSTITUTION:The toner is charged electrostatically by a layer control member 7 and applied uniformly on a toner carrier 5 in a single-layer or double-layer state, and the toner is conveyed to a position opposite to an electrostatic image while sticking on the toner carrier 5 electrostatically, and then developed. In this case, the developer uses toner powder obtained by mixing two kinds of fine powder which are smaller than the toner particles and differ in mean grain size. Consequently, a uniform toner layer is formed on the toner carrier to improve electrostatic charging efficiency and obtain superior developing performance, so an obtained image has high resolving power and superior picture quality. |
