PURPOSE:To simplify the above device and to reduce the weight thereof by positioning a laser scanning device so that the optical path of semiconductor laser light emitted from the laser scanning device may agree with the optical axis of a light beam conducted to an optical system from an original and setting an erased range. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam light 110 advances on the optical path of incident light Bi in an opposite direction and spot light is formed into an image on an original platen. Since the spot light passes through the original 300 on the original platen and the original 300 can be viewed from an upper surface, the coordinates S1 and S2 within the range 301 which should be erased are detected by moving the spot light in a main scanning direction X and a subscanning direction Y to be stored in a storage device. The movement of the spot light in the X direction is performed with the rotation of a polygon mirror 104 provided in the laser scanning device 100 and the movement in the Y direction is performed by moving a carriage. When the latent image of an original image is formed on a photosensitive drum 10 with the light Bi, only the erased range 301 of the original 300 is scanned under a command from the storage device and the charges on that part are erased, thereby erasing the original. |
