The top surface of the ski has a guide rail unit (2'). The binding side has a housing (3) and there is a bolt lever (4) on the housing, cooperating with a toothed-bar-shaped cogged strip on the ski. The bolt lever moves on the housing against the force of thrust springs pushing it into an end position on the housing. An extension part (20) on the bolt lever acts as a handle with a non-operating position between the side plates (8) or operating position extending the active lever arm of the bolt lever. One end of the extension piece protrudes out of the side plates when in the operating position.
