The steering power aid is provided wtih a steering input shaft (11) to be rotated, a steering driven shaft (12), which is aligned to the input shaft (11). A motor (30) is arranged between the input shaft (11) and the driven shaft (12), and is driven corresp. to a rotation of the steering input shaft. A wave generator (41) of an elliptical cam is connected with a driven shaft (34) of the motor. An elastic deformable wedge section (42) surrounds a peripheral section of the generator (41). A round wedge section (43) is connected with the flexible wedge section and meshes with this. A brush (62) is provided which has electrodes with alternating different polarities. So, so the brush (32) is arranged, so that the electrode, which is in contact with the rotor of the conducting plate motor (30), is changed over on the other, if it is driven thereby, to be subjected to a displacement by the displacement element.
