FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method of starting and gas supply of gas turbine power generating plant, including turbocompressor with combustion chamber, gaseous fuel booster compressor, external starting engine, automatic release clutch, comes to cranking the shaft of turbocompressor by starting engine (for instance by steam turbine) to starting revolutions having preliminarily rigidly coupling turbocompressor and engine by common shaft and connecting the shaft through automatic release clutch with shaft of turbocompressor of gas turbine plant. Then steam is delivered to starting steam turbine and the latter is used to speed up booster compressor of gaseous fuel and shaft of turbocompressor of gas turbine plant until starting speed is obtained. Gaseous fuel is delivered to and ignited in combustion chamber. This done, starting engine shaft is disconnected from shaft of turbocompressor by release clutch. Steam consumption on steam turbine is increased and speed of gaseous fuel booster compressor is raised to 10.000-15.000 rpm, to provide pressure of gaseous fuel after booster compressor corresponding to required power level of gas turbine plant.
