Ellipsoidal headlamp for motor vehicle

The ellipsoidal headlamp includes an objective and if necessary, a scattering disc. An imaging screen is portrayed on the road surface which runs horizontally from the centre in the direction towards the centre of the road and is inclined from the centre towards the edge of the road at a given angle so that a light-dark boundary is created for unsymmetrical road illumination. The imaging screen consists of sheet metal and is bevelled on both sides forming two edges from the centre onwards at a given angle. In front of a fixed frame made of sheet metal (4) the screen can pivot about its centre in front of or behind the frame in only two defined end positions. In the first position, the first edge inclined to one side of the road and allows illumination of one side while the second edge lies horizontally. In the other position, the second edge allows illumination of the other side of the road while the first edge lies horizontally.
