<p>1410338 Specific # 1 -gylcoprotein BEHRING- WERKE AG 29 Sept 1972 [29 Sept 1971 20 Nov 1971] 45184/72 Heading A5B A pregnancy-specific # 1 -glycoprotein is obtained by fractionation of human placental tissue or the blood or urine of pregnant women. The procedure disclosed comprises precipitation of bulk proteins with diamino ethoxy acridine lactate at pH 8, precipitation of the glycoprotein andγ-globulin with ammonium sulphate, dissolving this precipitate in water, adsorbing it on diethylaminoethyl cellulose, eluting with tris-(oxy methyl)-aminomethane/HCl and precipitating with ammonium sulphate. Other waking-up procedures are mentioned. Physical and chemical data for the pure material (which is claimed per se) is given. It may be used to raise an anti-serum specific to the # 1 -glycoprotein by injection into a mammal and subsequent collection of blood and separation of the antiserum therefrom, this material being useful in testing for pregnancy using conventional immunological techniques.</p> |
