PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the pot life of a soln. and to reduce the amt. of the soln. used by using urethane resin-contg. styrene-butadiene rubber having high bonding function as a binder in a magnetic recording layer. SOLUTION: When a heat sensitive recording layer is formed on one side of a substrate and a magnetic recording layer consisting essentially of a magnetic substance, a water-soluble dispersant and a binder is formed on the other side to obtain a heat sensitive magnetic recording material, urethane resin-contg. styrene-butadiene rubber (urethane modified SBR) is used as the binder in the magnetic recording layer. The thickness of the magnetic recording layer can be reduced, electromagnetic transducing characteristics are improved and superior blocking, water and adhesion resistances are ensured. In the case where crosslinked urethane modified SBR obtd. by reaction with a crosslindking agent is used, such properties can further be improved. |
