<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent characteristic deterioration in a liquid crystal display element due to a leakage current and a reverse tilt phenomenon caused by a horizontal electric field of a data signal line and a pixel electrode and to improve a numerical aperture by providing an opaque electrode electrically connected to the pixel electrode. SOLUTION: The opaque electrode 14a or 14b is formed on reverse tilt areas A, B from left/right both side edges of the pixel electrode 18 until a selection area between the data signal lines 16a or 16b adjacent to the pixel electrode 18. An insulation layer lies between overlapped parts between the opaque electrodes 14a, 14b and the pixel electrode 18. These two electrodes are electrically connected by contact plugs 22a, 22b formed on the insulation layer so that the opaque electrodes 14a, 14b keep a potential equal to the pixel electrode 18. The contact plugs 22a, 22b are formed together when the pixel electrode 18 is formed, and consist of the same substance as the pixel electrode.</p> |
