The club has a main body (20), whose cross section varies from a narrow end to an end with a large diameter. It is made from first bundles of fibres which overlap or are twisted together. Two or more second bundles (14) of fibres are fastened to the main body so that they extend linearly from the narrow end region towards the other end. They also run radially about the axis of the body, and may be arranged in an outer or inner wall of the latter. The club may also be made from an inner tube which is encased in an outer tube, and which has at least one second bundle of fibres arranged between the tubes.
