PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner whose outdoor unit establishes automatically a main unit-and-sub unit setting in an indoor unit group. SOLUTION: An outdoor side ECU outputs the other indoor confirmation command CB by way of an indoor unit 1a and a remote control communication bus line 4, and determines whether or not there exists any reply to this confirmation. In the case when the command is responded and no main unit is provided in the indoor unit, the indoor unit 1a is set as the main unit. An outdoor unit 3 outputs the other indoor unit confirmation command CB by way of an indoor unit 1b and the remote control communication bus line 4 and determines whether or not there exists a response to this confirmation. Particularly, in the case when the main unit has existed in the indoor unit which responded with the conformation, the indoor unit 1b is set as the sub-unit. |
