PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily charge a battery, reduce power consumption of the battery, and make illumination effective. SOLUTION: A cordless luminaire containing a round mercury discharge type lighting source 2, a secondary battery 3, and a pulse lighting control circuit 4 which intermittently supplies the power of the secondary battery 3 to the lighting source 2 has a cord connector 1A capable of connecting to a power source cord 1 by one operation. A long afterglow phosphor layer 6 with white luminescent color containing a reflecting layer 5 made of an aluminum plate and a long afterglow phosphor comprising EuDy co-activated strontium aluminate and EuTm co-activated calcium sulfide is formed on the inner surface of a hood 12A of a lamp part 12 having the light emitting source 2. The lamp 2 (the light emitting source) is controlled with a pulse lighting control circuit 4 to emit light, emitted light of the light emitting source 2 is coupled with long afterglow from the long afterglow phosphor to conduct illumination. During cordless lighting, pulse lighting time is shortened, pulse intervals are lengthened, and long afterglow is effectively utilized. |
