PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the background noise suppression device by which a voice recognition rate at a receiver side is improved without the need for registering a user voice under a speech environment of a transmitter side having background noise. SOLUTION: When a hook detector 1 detects hook-off, a changeover control circuit 2 sets control objects (circuits 4, 8, 10, 11 and 14) to be a measurement state. A background noise storage circuit 11 stores a separated background noise signal received by a background noise input device 6 and separated into a plurality of frequency bands by a frequency separate circuit 9. A message signal from a message generating circuit 3 is obtained at an output of a transmission signal and reception sound output device 5. After measurement of background noise, a changeover control circuit 2 sets the control objects to a speech state. A frequency synthesis circuit 13 transmits a suppression transmission signal obtained by fully summing separated suppression transmission signals from a background noise control circuit 12 resulting from subtracting the separated background noise measurement signal from the separate speech signal relating to the transmission signal entered by a speech tone input device 7. A reception signal is used for an output of the reception sound output device 5. |
