PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and securely perform maintaining operation by discriminating user's discrimination information and enabling the maintaining operation of the information providing terminal. SOLUTION: A CPU 13 makes a card reader 2 read out data recorded in a user discrimination code storage area and a maintenance menu discrimination code storage area on a magnetic stripe formed on an ID card, and judges that the ID card is a card for maintaining operation and then judges the maintenance level unless the stored data in the user discrimination code storage area is 0 and the stored data in the maintenance menu discrimination code area is 0. Then a maintenance menu corresponding to the level of a maintenance operator is displayed on a CRT 3, and other maintenance menus are not displayed. Consequently, only the maintenance menu corresponding to the level of the maintenance operator can be selected and a maintenance menu outside the in-charge range of the maintenance operator is prevented from being started by mistake. |
