摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy and reliability for judging a maximum grain by judging false detection individually, or combining the aspect ratio of the maximum figure extracted, degree of complexity, and the value of an area occupation ratio for a figure maximum length rectangle. SOLUTION: A detection device 10 picks up the image of a belt conveyor 1 for carrying ores 2 by a television camera 11 being set in a visual field, e.g. 0.3m square, processes the image, and detects an excessively large grain. The detection is effected by a series of procedures of taking an image to be monitored by the camera 11, the binarization of a gray level image, the labeling of a figure in an image where a binary image is preprocessed, the extraction of a maximum figure in the labeled figure, and the judgment of the presence or absence of the excessively large grain by comparing the maximum figure with a preset area or the reference of a diameter. It is judged whether the detection is a false detection or a correct detection according to the value of aspect ratio of the detected excessively large grain, the value of degree of complexity, the value of an area occupation rate for a figure maximum length rectangle, or the combination of two or three kinds of shape values.
