PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a semiconductor device with a pixel protection circuit capable of preventing pixel from being deteriorated in characteristic and being broken due to stop of a scanning circuit of X-Y address system or malfunction of the semiconductor device. SOLUTION: In this semiconductor device, each of monitoring-circuits 111, 112, 115, 116 always monitors input status of H. DATA signal 107, H. CLK signal 108, and V. DATA signal 109 and V. CLK signal 110 inputted to a horizontal shift register and a vertical shift register in the device, and in a case of stop or malfunction of a scanning circuit due to disconnection, etc., of these signals, this device prevents pixel being selected by switching off a vertical switch 102 or a horizontal switch 103 through a horizontal mask AND 114 and a vertical mask AND 122. Thus, elements composing the pixel are protected from being excessively loaded by a long time selection of the same pixel. |
