PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for trouble of setting the automatic answering telephone mode through a switch or the like for the purpose in the case of providing removably a portable telephone set to the facsimile equipment main body. SOLUTION: This equipment is provided with a portable telephone set detection section 2 that detects whether or not a mounted portable telephone set 1 is removed, an automatic answering telephone set mode setting means 11a that automatically sets the automatic answering telephone mode when the portable telephone set detection section 2 detects it that the portable telephone set 1 is removed, and a message transmission means 11b that sends a reply message denoting the fact of absence to a caller when an incoming call reaches in the automatic answering telephone mode. Thus, when the portable telephone set 1 is removed, the automatic answering telephone mode is automatically set and when an incoming call is received in the automatic answering telephone mode, a reply message denting the fact of absence is sent to the caller. |
