PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent speed change shock and lowering of durability of a clutch by detecting the cooling water temperature of an internal combustion engine, computing the heating value of a fluid coupling and a friction connecting element, and estimating the temperature of the friction connecting element from the result. SOLUTION: Parameters of rotating speed of an engine E, cooling water temperature and the like are read, and at the time of starting the engine E, the cooling water temperature is made the preceding value of clutch temperature. The heating value by a torque converter 2, the heating value by hydraulic clutches C1-4R, the heating value by gear agitation, the heating value by a radiator 20 and the radiation quantity by the atmosphere are then computed, and the computed value are totaled and added to the preceding value of clutch temperature to compute the present value of clutch temperature. The value computed this time for the next computation is substituted for the preceding value and stored in an RAM 32 when the engine is stopped. With this constitution, the temperature of a hydraulic clutch can be estimated with accuracy, and speed change shock and lowering of durability of the clutch can be prevented by appropriate hydraulic control while being simplified in constitution. |
