PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the driver of a vehicle to easily recognize his course at an intersection to be guided by improving the visibility of the intersection map of the intersection. SOLUTION: A navigator for vehicle is provided with a storing means 3 which stores intersection maps and other data required for guiding routes and display control means 1 and 4 which discriminate the information required for route guidance out of the data stored in the storing means 3 and plot the required information on a screen by limiting the other information than the required information when the required information is displayed on an intersection map and searches the route to a destination of a vehicle and guides the driver of the vehicle into the route. The navigation device is also provided with a display control means 1 and 4 which displays the intersection map of an intersection to be guided upon detecting an intersection enlarging instruction and a present location detecting means 2 which detects the present location of the vehicle. The display control means l and 4 display the intersection map upon detecting the intersection enlarging instruction when the present location detected by means of the detecting means 2 approaches a point which is a prescribed distance this side of the intersection to be guided. |
