PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performane of a CD-ROM drive and a distributed processing network by retrieving the volume of a 3rd layer data including requested data and writing the retrieved data in a non-volatile data block and a free RAM data block. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a non-volatile cache established on a part of a local large capacity storage device. An unused block in the non-volatile cache is unintentionally selected to remove data during the updating period of the cache when a free block can not be used. When there is no free sub-block, data are similarly deleted from a sub-block having minimum application frequency in the RAM cache during the updating period of the RAM cache (S10). The quantity of 3rd layer data including requested data is retrieved and the retrieved data are written in a non-volatile data block and a free RAM data block (S13).
