PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute various kinds of opening/closing loop control means properly and rapidly depending on a detection result by comparing an actual value identifier obtained by a measurement structure part with the target value identifier of a rotary angle that is filed in a memory. SOLUTION: Shafts 2 and 3 driven by a shaft 1 form a unique relationship of a rotary angle between adjustment marks 5a and 5b and the shaft 1. Also, sectionsα1 -αm andβ1 -βn have order marks A1 ... and B1 ... for defining an order sequence, and a time measuring device 8 is switched on and off by detection signals 6a and 6b , thus detecting a timeΔt. A logic circuit 11 compares the timeΔt and the combination of levels that are changed 7a and 7b when signal 6a and 6b arrive with association data being stored 10 for a discrete sub-angle Sref for each combination, thus detecting a sub-angleδ. On the other hand, information on which section is switched on or off is derived 14 by signals 13a and 13b for detecting 12a and 12b an order mark, and a main angle regionΔϕand the order are obtained and totaled 19 from the derived information and the timeΔt by a logic circuit 16, thus detecting the rotary angleΦof the shaft 1.
